Position Overview:The Hospital Billing Executive plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for medical services provided to patients. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare billing procedures, insurance protocols, and attention to detail to ensure that billing operations are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing Process Management: Prepare and review patient invoices for medical services rendered, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations and guidelines.

Verify and enter billing data into the hospital's electronic billing system.
Generate and distribute invoices to patients, insurance companies, and relevant parties.

  • Insurance Verification and Claims: Verify insurance details and eligibility for patients prior to initiating the billing process.

Collaborate with medical coders to ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses for insurance claims.
Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically or through relevant channels.

  • Follow-Up on Outstanding Payments: Monitor outstanding invoices and insurance claims to ensure timely payment.

Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues delaying payment, including denied claims.
Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.

  • Payment Posting and Reconciliation: Accurately post payments received from patients, insurance companies, and other sources.

Reconcile payments against invoices and track discrepancies for resolution.
Maintain up-to-date records of payments and adjustments in the billing system.

  • Billing Compliance: Ensure billing practices align with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and insurance industry standards.

Stay updated on changes in billing and coding regulations to maintain compliance.

  • Patient Communication: Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance claims, and payment options.

Provide explanations of billing codes, charges, and insurance coverage as needed.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate regular reports on billing and collection activities for management review.

Maintain organized records of billing documents, payments, and related correspondence.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the finance department, medical coders, clinical staff, and other relevant departments to ensure accurate billing and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Management, or Diploma in related field.
  • Knowledge of medical billing procedures, healthcare insurance.
  • Proficiency in using billing software and electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for interactions with patients, insurance representatives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in healthcare billing or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month
